Aikido of Columbus

Aikido of Columbus began in 1982.

We use Aikido practice to overcome the urge to fight. The goal of our Aikido training is to learn how to resolve conflicts in a harmonious manner. And paradoxically, that state of peacefulness is the key to effective self-defense technique if you have to fight.

We use openness of breath, proper body alignment, and flowing energy to achieve smooth, powerful defense techniques and an attitude of kindness. We have classes for children and adults, including one no-falling class for people who can?t physically do regular Aikido or who want the philosophical core of Aikido but aren?t interested in the full martial art.

Paul Linden, Ph.D., is a body awareness educator, a martial artist, and an author. He holds a sixth degree black belt in Aikido and a first degree black belt in Karate and is an instructor of the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education. Paul focuses on teaching people how to create a state of calm alertness and compassionate power as a foundation for efficient, effective, and ethical action.
